We’re having a party

February 29th, 2008 No comments

We’re having a party in May. We’re celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. I’m very excited about it- lots of wonderful people are coming including some Lifelisters. Although I’ve never met some of these people before, I’m so pleased that I can make them welcome by playing their favourite music! This will be the first of many Lifelisting events I hope.

Lifelists on BBC Radio 2

February 12th, 2008 No comments

I just happened to be listening to Stuart Maconie sitting in for Chris Evans on BBC Radio 2 drivetime. Stuart was discussing Art Garfunkel, who, apparently has a list of every book he’s ever read since 1960 on his web site. Having just finished my own list of all the books I read last year, I sent an email to the show. It’s the first time I’ve ever had an email read out on the air so I was very excited, especially as Lifelists got a mention.

Your new “home” page

February 5th, 2008 No comments

You have probably noticed that we’ve made some changes to the “my home” tab. We’ve added a section where you can see at a glance your ‘notifications’, Lifelists, friends, messages, me2!s and favourites.

Each heading includes a small triangle which, when clicked, ‘turns down’ and reveals more information: lists of your Lifelists, friends, new messages, me2!s on your Lifelists and your favourite Lifelists. Most of this information is ‘clickable’ giving you shortcuts to Lifelists, friends etc.

Notifications tell you about things happening on the system that are relevant to you, such as when someone edits one of the favourites that you are watching, or when someone sends you a message or gives you a me2!

Watch your favourites

February 5th, 2008 No comments

Now you can ‘watch’ your favourites so that when they change you will receive a notification on your “my home” page.

On the “my favourites” tab you will see a grey eyeball to the left of each of your favourite Lifelists. Clicking on the eyeball turns it black and you will then receive a “notification” on your “my home” page whenever the owner changes the list.

Bucketlists

February 5th, 2008 No comments

We’ve added a new type of Lifelist to the site – the Bucketlist.

Have you seen the film ‘The Bucket List’? It is about two terminally ill people, each told they have less than a year to live, trying to tick off all the items on a wish list before they ‘kick the bucket’.

Now on mylifelists.com you can have your own Bucketlist, a bit like a Todolist but without the target dates. It might sound a bit morbid, but think of it as the ultimate ‘goals’ list – things you’d like to do or achieve in your life! You can only have one Bucketlist and, as with other Lifelists, it can be public, ‘for friends only’ or private.

Click here to create your Bucketlist.

Quote, unquote.

February 4th, 2008 No comments

New user bandraoi has created a great list of quotations. I’ve been meaning to do this for a while. Sometimes I make a note of great quotations that I like and they are left around on scraps of paper. I’ve got a terrible memory for that kind of thing- like joke punchlines, I can never remember them when I want to use them. A Lifelist of quotes I like is a great idea.

Many in Ireland consider February 1st to be the first day of spring. It’s snowing!
