Both cards are large (A5) and printed on 280gsm high quality board. They will be for sale on my ilovemayo site. If you are interested, let me know so that I can make sure I have enough in stock.

I’m working on some seasonal cards to sell through my I love Mayo site. Some will be more traditional and Christmassy but some will be more in keeping with the times in which we live. I’m making the original artwork from cut paper. It’s been hard work for my poor fingers. It’s been a long time since I’ve used a scalpel so much.
This first one is inspired by my friend Dave. “Bah! Humbug” is always one of his favourite seasonal sayings and it seems even more appropriate in these times of recession/doom and gloom. To add to the irony I’ve added lots of jolly seasonal shapes.
I plan to get cards printed by my favourite printer and sell them under my “Love Ireland” label. I’m not totally sure of my colour scheme, but I’m thinking of turning the artwork white and resting it on a silvery grey background. The picture above is of the artwork backed with tracing paper and held up against my kitchen window. I’ve not scanned it yet.
Inside, I plan to include some check boxes so that senders can tick an option that will include, “Happy Christmas”, “Happy New Year”, “All the very best for 2011″, “All of the above” or “Bah! Humbug”. I’d love to know what you think.
