We’ve had the plastering around the windows done in one of our spare rooms, the shutters are back and my mum very kindly made curtains out of the fabric I bought from Ebay. I love this fabric, it has swallows on it. We have a lot of those around at the moment. It must be summer and the arrival of the swallows that have made me want to nest myself.  I’ve been recovering chairs, making cushions, and sewing ribbons and bead trims onto everything that will stand still long enough. We’ve given the room a fresh coat of paint and are getting ready for the arrival of our Amsterdam girls, Annie & Bertje. They will be over here for approx 7 weeks, and staying in this room for at least 3 of those weeks. It feels like the summer has arrived.

Here’s Trudi who seems very unimpressed by our new weather station. It was Al’s birthday present. All of the data from the weather station is uploaded to the Currane website, together with the pics from our web cam. You can see them here. Images and data are updated regularly and there is a large archive so you can see what’s what… apart from when it’s dark!

Every year I ask Al what he would like for his special birthday dinner and every year he says, steak pie! He has simple tastes (just as well).
