Hello there!

I don’t know why, possibly spring in the air but I decided to visit this blog for the first time since I got ill, just after my last blog post in October 2013. To cut a long story short, I started to go numb and fell over a few times. I spent some time in hospital, had lots of tests and ever since have been seeing all sorts of consultants. We still don’t know what’s wrong except that my thyroid was lazy. I didn’t want to write about it as, let’s face it, it’s all rather boring. I’ve not written here for that reason. I didn’t want to go on about it but it’s been a big part of my life so it seemed odd to write here without mentioning it. It slowly got worse over a period of about a year. It felt like I was sinking into quicksand, but it seems to have got as bad as it’s going to get or at least is controlled by pills now. My feet, legs and left hand are still numb but I don’t feel particularly ill. We’ve ruled out lots of stuff. Bad brain things, spine and back things, MS, Lyme disease and I think Multiple Myeloma (I’m sure I don’t have that as I’d have been dead by now if I had it I think). Next up is a bone marrow biopsy and I’m awaiting the results of more blood tests and a full body x ray. I’m quite immobile these days and have to use a crutch if I go out of the house but I’ve got much better at coping with ‘my condition’. It occurred to me today that coming clean and mentioning it here may actually help me to come to terms with it. Anyway, enough of that. Now I’ve said it, lets move on…
